Fill lamp about two thirds full
with Sejour fragrance oil. |
Step 1 – Fill the lamp
Each Séjour Effusion Lamp comes with a 120ml bottle of fragrance. It is important not to fill your lamp more than 1/2 to 2/3rds full so there is sufficient oxygen left at the top of the lamp for the catalytic process to work effectively. Use the following as a guide (DO NOT OVERFILL): Small Lamps take approximately 50ml-60ml and
Large Lamps 120ml.
Use the funnel to pour the Effusion Fragrance into the lamp and wipe off any spillage.
|

Insert wick assembly into the
lamp. Try not to touch stone
with your fingers. |
Step 2 – Insert wick assembly
The stone is porous so try not to touch it with your fingers as the oil from your skin can contribute to clogging the wick and preventing it from burning. Using the metal collar under the stone, insert the wick assembly into the lamp. Ensure that the neck of the wick assembly fits neatly into the neck of the lamp by gently pressing it into position. |
|
Place cap over stone for
20-30 minutes to help fragrance
oil draw up into wick and stone. |
Step 3 – Replace snuffer cap To help the fragrance to draw up into the wick and stone, place the snuffer cap over the wick assembly and leave it for approximately 20-30 minutes.
|
Light stone and allow to burn for
3-5 minute before blowing out. |
Step 4 – Light the stone Take off the snuffer cap. Light the wick assembly using your Séjour Lamp Lights. It is normal for the flame to be approximately 8 cm-10 cm in height on the initial burn. This will settle down within a few minutes as the stone absorbs more fragrance oil. Let the flame burn for 3-5 minutes. DO NOT leave the flame unattended or attempt to place the vented crown on the open flame. If the wick stone does not light, consult Wick Maintenance under Instructions link.
|
 BLOW OUT THE FLAME
and then place vented crown
over the wick assembly.
|
Step 5 – Blow out the flame Blow out the flame. Your Séjour Effusion Lamp is now operating. You may see some slight smoking while your lamp is oxidizing air particles. Do not be concerned as this is steam not soot. |

Place the decorative crown
on your lamp and enjoy
the
fragrance. |
Step 6 – Place decorative crown on lamp Once the flame has been blown out, place the vented crown over the wick assembly, taking care not to touch the hot burner stone. |
Step 7 – Enjoy your fragrance Leave the Effusion Lamp burning for as long as you require. It typically takes about 30-45 minutes to fragrance an average single storey home. A mini-lamp will burn for approximately 4-5 hours and a large lamp for 8-10 hours. Depending on the fragrance, it is not uncommon for these wonderful aromas to linger for 3-4 days even if the lamp is empty. Because the Séjour Effusion Lamp system is so efficient, you may find that some of the fragrances are a little strong for your taste. You can soften the strength without affecting the fragrance by adding some Séjour Wick Rejuvenator to tone it down. Try about 5% or 6ml to a 120ml bottle and adjust until the desired strength is reached. |
 To extinguish lamp before all
the oil has been used carefully remove vented crown with
oven mit and cover stone
with snuffer cap. |
Step 8 – Extinguish your lamp If you wish to extinguish your lamp before it has used all the oil, use an oven mitt to remove the vented crown as it may be hot. Place the snuffer cap over the wick assembly to extinguish the burner. Replace the vented crown. Do not refill your lamp until the burner stone is completely cold.
|

Replace snuffer cap when lamp not in use to prevent eveporation. |
Step 9 – Prevent evaporation When your lamp is not in use, always leave the snuffer cap on to prevent evaporation of any remaining fragrance and also to prevent dust and moisture in the air from clogging the wick. |
