The snuffer cap has a very important job. The alcohol in the fragrance oil tends to evaporate and let the fragrance oil build up in the wick stone. See Maintenance for more details.

This depends largely on the fragrance and the size of the lamp. A mini lamp typically will burn for approximately 4-5 hours and a large lamp will burn 8-9 hours before all the fragrance oil is exhausted. Mini crystals are smaller in volume than the glass lamps and will burn for 2-3 hours. It takes approximately 45 minutes to fragrance an average single storey home.
